Wood Group have used the blended learning course Ex Installation and Maintenance (Ex Vedlikehold). Traditionally this course has been delivered as a three days classroom course, but now offered by ExTek as a one day course with e-learning as pre-study and preparation.
“The reduction from three days to one day in classroom gives dramatically cost savings,” says Anette Gustavson, Resource Manager – Operations at Wood Group. “The feedback from our workers is very good; the e-learning course is very comprehensive and covers all the important subjects. The feedback on the one day at ExTek training Centre has also been very good. We at Wood Group believe it`s important with hands on training and interactive discussions on these important and safety critical subjects”.
ExTek offer the most cost efficient and comprehensive e-learning package in the industry, for offshore personnel working in explosive atmospheres. All courses build on International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
“Today’s market requires more cost efficient and better Ex and El safety training. Blended learning and self-study will be a greater part of future training, both to increase quality and reduce the cost of training,” says Gudveig Elin Undheim, Sales and Centre Manager at Extek. “To have good feedback from Wood Group as a leading oil service company is most appreciated. We will continue the effort to make better and more cost efficient Ex training”.
